About Lisa:
Lisa Felty Nau is originally from Mountain Home, Idaho. She was raised an Air Force brat, living in Idaho, England, and Colorado. In 2015 she came back to Idaho for good. Her journey has been filled with many lessons from things she enjoys, like music/concert photography, outdoors, landscapes, things that give her peace and challenge her on a whole new level.
She learned being behind the lens was more enjoyable than being in front of it as a teenager. This was when she learned her unique way of seeing things through the lens. This is how she tells her story without ever saying a word. She is a quiet person but surprises people with how loudly her photography speaks; creating strong, unique, and beautiful images. This is who she is as a photographer and a woman in this world.
Her family is what drives her, being able to show them that if you put your mind to anything and work hard, things happen in life that work out for the better. She shows them to give back to the world, without asking for anything in return or making yourself look better. Teaching that it will come back to you.
Outside of photography she works in the medical field. Wanting to help people and make a difference however big or small. It’s a very hard demanding job, but this is one of the ways she shows her family that doing things for others is important. Especially in the medical field where it seems so many people feel lost, rushed, or not heard in the healthcare systems.
Her concert photography ranges from Heavy Metal to Country, and anything in between. Her preference is Rock, from Metal to alternative, which is what got her into music as a kid. Her photography is like a playlist on shuffle, you never know what you’re going to get next. Her actual playlist is the same. Music brings her peace from the world and settles her anxiety just like photography. It brings her true happiness to share a song, or a band, that someone has never heard before. Then they become fans of that band.
One of her favorite bands is Adelita’s Way. She found them by listening to the radio on the way to her college classes one morning. She heard that first song and was hooked. She’s been lucky enough to photograph them and meet them as well. Music like theirs speaks to you in the hard times, fun times,those times you need to be woken up. All music tells a story, adding photos to it just brings it full circle.
