February 7, 2026
Saturday night at The Shedder never fails to entertain. The 7th of February was fixing to be another eventful night. With Buñuel on their U.S. Tour and Squid Pisser coming into town on the Smog of Self Abuse Tour 2026.

Starting the night off we had two local Boise bands in support. With Antiporter kicking the night off. An industrial rock band who merges the sound of their synth, guitar, keys, and drums creating a sound all their own. Although, it did remind me of Prodigy, maybe a little Julien K, their tempo was a bit slower then them.

Up next was the local noise core band Trauma Kit. Not sure where I would personally place their sound. It's like a rhythmic poetry slam with a full band. I sound somewhere near deafheaven but it's really not. I enjoyed them, it's something different ... .but again it’s not. They had a great set with the limited space available. I'll keep my eyes open for their next show.
Whatever you do dont miss a Squid Pisser set. Their raunchy high energy set will keep you on your toes. Kicking the set off by jumping into the crowd to grab a garbage can for a reason to be known later. Climbing up on amps and the trusses. This thrash/hardcore sound is fast paced off the walls and almost face melting…literally.

A stark contrast to the first two bands. The bill still fit the night. I missed these guys twice last year and wasn't going to miss them this time. Absolutely worth it, every minute. With members of the band also in GWAR it makes complete sense how well they performed costumes and all. As for that garbage can, Frontman Tommy Meehan climbed dove into it, layed in it and then a random fan beat on it while he sang.
Finishing off the night is a multinational band out of Italy, Buñuel. This band slowed it down to a slower hard rock early metal sound. With smattering of soul and blues. Some Black Sabbath sounds on the guitars. Then the drums bring it all in time. This group was out of this world. Making for a full night of great music. The lead singer, Eugene S. Robinson slowly disrobing down to the shoes, vest, and briefs didn't matter; his soulful vocals rang like metal gospel throughout The Shedder.

Similar lyrical nature to Trauma Kit with less poetry and more story telling. They also brought more rhythm and variance in the sound. The music tells a story through sound. It kept me hooked. They were a great band to end the night and another one I will be keeping and eye out for in the future. Now on to the next one I'll talk to you all later.
